Cast Iron Grating
Every one of our Cast Iron Grating products is thoroughly tested in-house on a regular basis utilising our own 400 Kn vertical machine which is calibrated regularly in accordance with industry requirements. The practical advantages of reinforced fibre resin composite manhole covers are enormous. Eccles' experience in the field ensures that every product detail and its application have been addressed. Because cast iron is comparatively brittle, it is not suitable for purposes where a sharp edge or flexibility is required. It is strong under compression, but not under tension. The weight of grates are much lower than standard ductile iron or steel equivalent, meaning they can be lifted by one man which conforms to new industry working standards.
The products are compatible with all existing chambers so they can be used for both replacement projects and new build and the new advanced composite material provides the option for covers to be customised for a wide range of applications such as incorporating company and usage details on the surface. Grating can be manufactured to the customer's own specifications, including a range of colours to suit different design concepts and the durable finish keeps its profile and colour in all weather conditions, and is particularly resistant to de-icing salts.
All ductile Cast Iron Grating products are manufactured to BSEN124: 1994. In addition, our ductile iron production facility has been awarded the coveted ISO9001 certification, by the BSI. Products are always available ex-stock to be dispatched from the company's Walsall depot.
